@Ex0dus111 All huge Monopolies are Government produced. You’d have to work hard to find something that is not.
Free Market only really works if Government cannot be used for corruption, otherwise Free Market clearly starts buying the government – it’s the best way to become richer, just buy the politicians, I’d do it.
So while Free Market is a fundamentally sound and the only real Economic system, Free Market mixed with Government corruption is a problem.
Solution: Fix Government corruption.
@itrainsinoctober You use WalMart as an example of Government Not Interfering with the Free Market?
You should go to circus. WalMart regularly and routinely pays a number of Senators and Governors to do their bidding. They have an army of lobbyists to get preferential levy and tax treatment, to make sure they have the UPPER hand in all markets by having the lowest cost. The Other guys get taxed Much More than WalMart.
That’s breathtaking, your ignorance there.
@Ex0dus111 Again with ‘fascist’ when talking about the Anti-Corporatist USSR. Amazing ignorance.
Just FYI, I was born in USSR, Ukraine, Zaporojie, I lived there and in Yakutia, Russia for enough years to know the history of that country from first hand experience. There was no Starving of any kind from late forties to about 1991, when the country was destroyed, then there were problem, in fact food shortages hit in 1991 and lasted for a year, also Government printing of cash killed currency.
@romanmir01 LOL, that’s funny how u immediately attack the government instead of the system itself(which is the root cause). The Chinese will work for less wages, end of story. Sure Walmart has lobbyists, blah, blah, blah. Companies will go WHEREVER THE PROFIT MARGIN IS THE HIGHEST, regardless of how it affects the country in which they live. You’ve read way too many of the wrong books.
@itrainsinoctober Companies will go whever the profit margin takes them, but it has to be profitable to move.
Monopolies are huge due to Government intervention and for them it is profitable due to economy of scale, maybe you do not understand what it means. It means that if you have 15 people working for you, moving and setting things up and training and shipping and supply and levies may be not profitable.
If you have 1000 and more people, that will be profitable for sure.
@romanmir01 Yah, you were a second world country until you introduced your “capitalist reforms”. Now Russia is back to being a third world country again, with the exception of a few guys getting really, really rich.
@romanmir01 While buying the goverment is certainly one way to achieve a monopoly, buying the competition is another. Driving the competition into banruptcy is yet another. Making sure the competition cannot compete with ur product, is another and so on and so on… Take the grain global market, run by like four companies here is a quote from one of their CEOs “The customer is our enemy and the competitor is our friend.” Because they price fix with each other.
@itrainsinoctober Thus Government by creating Monopolies kills local manufacturing and production.
By printing cash it kills currency.
By giving free money it creates incentives to misbehave.
By setting low interest rates it kills incentives to save, invest and produce.
By taking income tax it kills incentive to produce.
By giving tax deductibles against debt it gives incentives to get into debt and buy more.
@itrainsinoctober By giving tax deductibles against insurance it kills incentive to pay for small things out of pocket and drives costs up.
By regulating it kills innovation, kills production, kills competition and creates monopolies.
@itrainsinoctober Russia did do Free Market for about 5 years, but most people who were just coming out of the Soviet era could not benefit because they did not even understand what happened.
Then they were back in the old style, almost Monarch style of government. There is no Free Market there, it is a totally different system based on exports and based on taking bribes, it is all corruption based.
@Ex0dus111 The only way to prevent competition from re-appearing is by buying the politicians to create regulation that makes it impossible to compete and that is the main way Monopolies are created. That and Free Money given to companies who deal with the ‘right people’. Again, you’d find it hard to show examples of Monopolies where Government did not prop them up either by money or favors, or tax incentives or regulations.
@romanmir01 Wrong. Capitalism itself, will always lend itself to wealth consolidation. That’s the whole point of the game, to gain as much market share as possible. The wealth will always become concentrated in fewer and fewer hands as time moves forward. You’re oblivious to this very fact, which demonstrates that Capitalism is flawed at its core. You can continue to blame the government, etc., but you’ll continue to run in a circle.
@romanmir01 I can shake a stick and find a monopoly that has nothing to do with government intervention. Take the world of news media, since the big three media companies are so rich today and so strong their tri-part monopoly is maintained by simply requiring too much money to compete with them, which nobody wants to invest The Grain monopoly as I said is maintained by price fixing and buying out any resources.
The Monopoly of Windows as a software platform is maintained by sheer market control
@itrainsinoctober Yeah, sure, that’s why we have one operating system (sarcasm), one computer (sarcasm), one car (sarcasm), one TV (sarcasm), one clothing manufacturer (sarcasm). And this IS with Government intervention, in fact Government Own a Car company.
Government printing money is the scariest thing that can happen to Economy, someone collecting capital and getting rid of competition is scary, but in Free Market the choices become available once the prices go too high for Market to bear.
@Ex0dus111 WOWOWOWOW YOU ARE ON TYT. TYT IS THE Competition.
What are you talking about? Jon Stewart, Rachel Maddow, the thousands of bloggers are the competition to the rotten monopolies that are clearly aided by the government!
Oh yeah, those monopolies have Nothing (sarcasm) to do with the Government who wants to Control all of the media to prevent people from finding out about wars, corruption etc.
You are a joke, your argument is ridiculous and so simpleminded!
@romanmir01 Wrong again. The 7 principle owners of WalMart are worth 80 billion dollars. And WalMart IS NOT a monopoly. You have Target, Costco, etc. The wealth is still concentrated in a few hands, the natural flow of Capitalism. I wish Stalin hadn’t done what he did, maybe you’d still have some of your communist heritage.
@itrainsinoctober Exactly, WalMart is not a monopoly, so what is your beef with them exactly except that they are playing the same game: buying Senators, Governors, sending lobbyists to Washington?
Does this prevent you from opening a small retail store? People have small retail stores all over the place no matter Costco or not.
Stalin? My Grandfather had 18 kids and 2 farms. Himself and his wife and kids were taken and sent in a train to Tatarstan, on the way his wife and 5 kids died
@itrainsinoctober Then the rest were killed in war except for 2, I guess lucky me, right?
Communist heritage you say? Communism is a religion, I am an atheist and too rational for that.
@itrainsinoctober Correction, of-course it was my Great-grandfather. The grandfather hung himself due to the Communist system driving him to it because he was drunk and was made an example of at the factory he was working at. In the WWII he fought the Nazis in Ukraine, in the largest tank battle in History under Kursk, he was a tank driver, then he was captured and spent 2 years in Auschwitz but survived, only to kill himself in the simpler peaceful ‘communist’ times.
@romanmir01 Thats exactly my point, they can make the news, but they have no power in the market, the MARKET of media news, as in those ppl that use it to make MONEY, will not allow a competitor. It has nothing to do with the government, and simply arises from the natural effect of any free market.
(Jon Stewart works for Viacom though, and Maddow for NBC so they are a part of it.)
@Ex0dus111 Oh, I am so done with you. TYT makes money, their budget is at least 45K a month and they make about 60K right now, that was before the Flick commercials came in.
Your next messages are ignored.
@romanmir01 Yah, you still don’t get it, but whatever.
@romanmir01 yes 60k… oooooooh!!!
Ive agued every point uve brought up, and ive tried my best to keep it as simple as possible hoping u would understand.
This idea that the magical hand of the free market is anything but a random lottery that eventually ruins everyone, like any gambling, is a ludicrus notion, perhaps in time u will get over ur own preprogrammed bias and see this.
@whatyathinknow I would agree. Cable news in general is suboptimal journalism. I never get my news from TV anymore other than C-Span.
I think that the fact is our creepy politicians are ignoring what is recognized as THE GENESIS OF THE FINANCIAL MELTDOWN, THE EXPLOSION OF THE HOUSING BUBBLE. All of that stinky paper that screwed up the financial markets would still be good if there was not a HUGE EXPLOSION OF THE HOUSING BUBBLE. Greedy Ameritards bought houses they could not afford and lots of other junk. Time to start at the beginning and liquidate Fannie and Freddie!
