The shit hit the fan once all the shitty loans they had been issuing started foreclosing at an exponential rate. As a result wall street stopped buying packaged loans (CDO) and the banks were then stuck with loans they knew they should not have issued in the first place. Add to this, the fact they over leveraged themselves having maybe $10 in cash reserves for every $1000 they lent to any schmuck with a 700 FICO score, and the homes were now worth less then the original amount of the loan.

It’s a mixture. You have a failed housing industry like freddie and fannie who gave raced based loans instead of who was financially qualified. You had unions driving corporations over the border to afford to operate. You have a taxed burdoned legal system due to ghetto crime, and then the war, which happened because the clinton administration ignored red flags because it was distracted by white water. Then all the foreign aid to 3rd world countries. Yet you bigot still whine about whitey.
This is what disappoints me about news debates like this: No one wants to shut up. No matter what news network, there is always someone interrupting the other and going on a rant in response. It’s impolite and unprofessional.

So much for Foxs claim to be fair and balanced.Ive known for years that they were full of shit.For the most part American media feeds out to the public what the fat cats want them to know.Thanks to the web with a little research you can find out both sides of the story.Its a shame to have to be forced to search for the truth but thats the way the us operates.Its no longer the government of the people but the government of the priviledged.Maybe someday the people will wake up and fix it.

Moore says that according to the FBI 80% of this was caused by fraud and greed, so what does that say about the FBI. If the FBI knows this was created through fraud, then where are all the prosecutions, indictments, frozen bank accounts…why are these criminals getting a free pass.
I know we can say “well it all happened or was allowed during the Bush years”, but don’t we have a new President now, so where are the prosecutions, and why is Obama not allowing investigations into Wall Street.

I have to agree about the division. We need more unbiased facts.
Ignorant fuck! We have a perfectly working healthcare system. Sweden has one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world: AstraZeneca, among others. Our tax rate is around 30%. You wanna know what my father’s recent angioplasties cost him when he had heart problems? $30. How long did he have to wait? Not at all. Every single citizen of this country can afford to get quality higher education. Why? Because you don’t pay a single penny. We enjoy a VERY high standard of living.
