www.house.gov www.CampaignForLiberty.com http Here’s Congressman Ron Paul’s opening statement at the House Financial Services Committee hearing on January 13, 2009 dealing with the TARP funds. Ben Bernanke had “more important” things to do and was a no-show.

Arthurd123,
Ron Paul pushes the idea that the free market tacitly includes individual responsibility for one’s own assets and to take responsibility for inherent risk. The Free Market is theoretically supposed to preclude bad debt and asset bubbles by making the propping of bad debt unprofitable. Enforcing ethics does nothing, but letting selfishness run markets freely ensures capital’s best usage.
It is truly shameful that the government controlled media swayed the voters away from Ron Paul being the Republican nominee. Instead of getting us out of this mess, we are going to continue going down the road of trying to spend our way into prosperity. Hate to tell everyone, it doesn’t work that way and the more the new administration spends, the more they will want control over your lives.
We’re currently in an Oiligarchy internate.
This is stuff I learned as a little kid. Spending will put you to ruin. -10 is not greater than 5!
That’s IT. Simple economics. People in the real world get this. Jesus, even kids get this! Jimmy doesn’t want to trade all his marbles or else he won’t have any left!
The thing is, people have been TRICKED into thinking that spending will lead you to prosperity when time and time again you clearly see that it doesn’t.
Here’s a good primer on Austrian economics: watch?v=rMn2R5txO28

If only the same percent of people in Washington Pay attention to this man as the citizenry we would be better off.
At the risk of sounding conspiritorial, It wouldn’t surprise me if those in power knew exactly what they were doing to our economy and our currency… that’s why they continue to move in this direction.
The world is a dangerous place to live; not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don’t do anything about it.

CAMPAIGN FOR LIBERTY !!!
search for the book “Rejected: How the Media Excluded Alternative Candidates in the 2008 Primary” in Amazon for a really good account of how Ron Paul and candidates who defended liberty were shut out by the mainstream press in the election process
its true
we are being lead down a road of depression
if there is no revolution then there will be no salvation
o Israel has killed Americans (eg. Sailors on USS Liberty, Rachel Corrie, etc…)
o Israel spies on this country.
o Israel blackmails our corrupt politicians.
o Israel steals our taxes.
o Israel uses our country as their toilet.

this speech is unbelievable.
i disagree, they want to restore the consitituon and therefore continue this system that doesn’t work.
this system has to go. and a new one needs to come in. and there is one. this system is about abundance and high standards of living for all. google “the venus project”. it is about system based on abundance unlike our current system based on scarcity. it is a RESOURCE-BASED economy, i would encourage anyone reading this to read about it.
i agrre with you, they want to restore the consitituon and therefore continue this system that doesn’t work.

You disagree because you dont’ get it yet. I’ve been to Venus, FL; did two tours at the Venus Project… great stuff. One thing we did talk about with Mr. Jacque Fresco was about the relationship between Constitutional Liberty and the unreachable Resource Based Economy and I have to say I agree with him. First we need Liberty and Government by The People and for The People, once we achieve this goal and have minimized government we can look forward to a Resource Based Economy.. .step by step
To think we can willy nilly jump from this extremely corrupted government to a Resource Based Economy is just a fantasy. Yes we have the technology to achieve it but we don’t have the population educated on these new resources, or the power of Liberty for that matter.
The Constitutional system as a good start…. with hard work and education will achieve this Resource Based Economy… in the year 2150 probably,.. but first people need to stop being so dependent on government.
i see what your’re saying, and it makes a lot of sense to me. but i don’t think we need the state to lead us to that direction. we can do it whenever people are ready to do it. we don’t need to wait for politics to talk about restoring something we already have
Well, we need baby steps towards the Anarchy you dream about which is in a way is the most peaceful way to live but it’s a political concept that does not fit in a human society, we are like children who need law. With law to restrain the people and the government we realized a Constitutional Republic which sponsored Liberty was the way to take the first steps towards a real civilization.
If we had remained loyal to our American principles we would probably have a Resource Based Economy today.
yeah, i wonder how this ride is gonna turn out
Social unrest right after the dollar bubble bursts, once that happen we will be in limbo for a few weeks and that time is critical, that’s when we have to decide as a country if we want more government to solve the problems of America or will we go back to our brilliant Constitutional principles. That moment in our history will dictate the following century’s faith.
We must regain our Liberty, that is what has always been the essence of America, that was the great experiment, Liberty.
