Umm….they’re not on the same page. Obama wants to, in a way, punish these big businesses with higher taxes and regulatory oversight. Paul just wants to cut subsidies (stop government funding, which is basically corporate welfare) and leave the company to its own interests.

I understand the appeal of cultural relativism, but there are issues with extremes.
its not just about us changing their laws. if there was one world government, it probably wouldn’t be based off the american constitution, and would possibly take away our right to free speech, doing things like outlawing swastikas (like in germany), holocaust denial (european union), or making it illegal to criticize islam (as proposed in the UN).

I’ll contest that the liberals who say that there was de-regulation under Bush (with the end result being the recession) are completely full of crap.
In 2001, 64,438 pages were added to the Federal Register (the Federal Register quite simply is a rough proxy of our regulatory state). 78,000 more pages were added in 2007. Economists from the Mercatus Center have described him as the “unparalled master of econonmically significant regulations”. The economic cost of his regulations? $800 million

Every time some talking head like Glenn uses the word “consumer” in place of “citizen” they give more power to these global industries. Because global industries consider people “consumers” of their products but ultimately their resources.
So are we ready to put the word “consumer” in it’s place next to other dehumanizing words such as “nigger”, “spike”, “kike” , “fagot”?
Imagine if the news still used these words today.

Man, you are a tard. You just wanted a reason to write those words down. Do you not realize that it is because of capitalism and consumerism that you have what you have? How do you think the government gets its money? It’s when these corporations look at us as consumers that they make the most advances and prices go down. Competition between corporations for consumer’s business is what allows you to choose which products you want.
First of all I don’t have much.
Second, I could care less because I don’t measure my self worth by material means.
Third, do you honestly think advancement is measured by technological means? What about social advancement?
Lastly, do you honestly believe the market is fair at this moment between businesses and do you even know what a holding company is and does?
If you think corporations funding our politics is a good thing you have much to read. Put down your iphone and pick up a book.
Name a social advancement that has not come about by technological means.
No, the market isn’t fair. It isnt fair that Im paying taxes to support a crack addicted single mother. Really. Working hard will get you out of poverty. While you will probably look at the stats and say well the bottom 20% of people arent getting richer, you have to realize that these people are moving up the ladder and that the bottom quintile is often not the same from year to year. People DO advance by hard work
How are holding companies not fair? They invest in the well being of their subsidiary.
