While correctly introducing interest as involved in the causes of the meltdown, the argument about who owns time was painfully silly and what might as well be called false teaching, as it has no practical bearing on the matter. The question is not, “Who owns time?”, as much as it should be, “Who owns a certain portion of property for a specific period of time?”
OK. I take your clarification. Naturally the “time” I was referring to what the use of any property during a period of time. By the way, the “painfully silly” “false teaching” you accuse me of is actually not mine but rather St. Thomas Acquinas’s…. But I suppose you are much wiser than he…

What was silly was not the raw idea, innocent enough in itself, but the misapplication of it, which you have corrected. Thank you. A better application could be to ask who owns the time of any individual human, comparing interest charged to them as to slavery. By extension, a public debt that is financed by an income tax is collective usury.
A simple definition of money is: “An exchangeable representation of useful human endeavor.” Useful means “having survival value.” Dried grain or fish can be money. Metals take a lot of endeavor to find, mine, smelt, and store. A promise of work (IOU) can be money. Perishables have less value, but can be money. A perversion of the notion of money is the creation of debt not backed by value. Lending/interest aren’t evil, lending a fake representation of value (fractional reserve lending) is evil.

The people surrounding Obama and Obama are not the answer. He would not be where he is today if it were not for their purchasing power. The young, elderly, and disabled probably generate more jobs for others than all of the business sectors combined. It’s a wonder if they don’t think of the rest of us as a “Maintenance” . Shouldn’t they be dignified with recognition as full partners in the building and maintenace projects of our economies and infrastructures and fully compensated as such? I think so. Just by their existence, needs, and participation in schooling & med. industries, they’ve contributed more than their fair share.
Correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t think God would object if we formed a private trading club and seeded it with advancements of 40 time currency units to new members in return for their promises to provide 40 hours of labor or services to grow the self-suficiency project. At the end of each week they could be paid 39 time units for 40 hours until the advancement is returned. The next week, they might agree to donate one time unit as a tithe of sorts towards the seeding of other entrants. Yes?
I agree! We can cut the head off the snake by NON-COMPLIANCE. A new currency will create a black market for those who do not wish to participate in this global scheme. This black market will be via, Silver, Gold, Copper…etc. A bartering system will be good also, anything that will return the power of money back to the people.

just because its a job it doesnt mean it actually “creates” anything..looking after the disabled etc is a social obligation in a civilized society…what the new world order are doing is shutting down all the mines, banning fossil fuels, destroying fishing and farming industries etc….which is destroying wealth creation which will in turn lead to a social breakdown which in turn mean those who are most vunerable will suffer greatest
