Scott Drake interviews FRC Vice President, and Retirement Income Practice Leader, Matt Schott and study author Leslie Prescott. Prescott said… “I would encourage advisers to seek out clients and prospects in their early 50′s.” According to an FRC fact sheet….”FRC sees that the line between retirement accumulation products and retirement income products is blurring. In the report, FRC provides an in‐depth analysis of structures, features, and functions of the primary retirement income products, including Managed‐Payout Funds (Endowment and Maturity‐Date Funds), Hybrid products, seven types of Guaranteed Annuities, as well as a category of retirement products that may not have been recognized as retirement income products in the past. The report examines the relative success of these products based on netflows and asset statistics supplied by FRC’s proprietary IMPACT database, as well as insightsfrom leading asset managers, and data from other investment industry sources including Morningstar, ICI, LIMRA, and EBRI.”
